The Protege

The Protege was born and raised in Waterbury Connecticut aka H20. His musical career started in 2001 when he became a DJ for WHUS 91.7 FM. For 4 years he hosted a variety of shows with other DJs. Shows like ” The Blueprint” “Underground Airplay” and “Seff’s Thunderground” built The Protege’s interest in actually making music. Ironically it was The Protege’s first recording session with the original Ant Farm that inspired him to purse a music career. He recorded the legendary song A.F in about two hours along with Roc One, JK1, and Spaz. He then went to Deto 22(producer of Phenetiks) with the hopes of recording a full length project. Those plans were halted because The Protege accepted a position as Phenetiks manager. Two years later he had been added to the Phenetiks roster as an MC. The Protege would go on to release two LP’s with Phenetiks, one released independently and the other released with Rawkus Records.
